BATH — The Hyde School wrestling team hit the road this weekend for a total of five dual meet matches.
On Friday, the Phoenix headed to Roxbury Latin School in Boston for a tri meet which also included Governor’s Academy. On Saturday, Hyde travelled to Milton, Mass., for a quad meet with Milton Academy, Lawrence Academy, and Class A League rival Tilton School.
Hyde lost to Roxbury Latin 63-18, to Governor’s Academy (48-30), to Lawrence Academy (48-27) and to Milton Academy (57-24), while turning back Tilton 47-24.
Sam Williams (106), Cody Baker (170) and Hang Zhao (126) all earned their first wins of the season, while Jack Howarth (195) continues to improve and went 3-2.
Senior captain Moises Diaz went 3-0 on Saturday with three pins to follow up on last week’s fourth-place finish at the Caruso Invitational in New Jersey. Darvin Anderson (138) was dominant, going 5-0 with four pins and a 17-1 technical fall win, while senior captain Steven Dwight (285) was also 5-0.
On Wednesday, Hyde hosts the Winter Classic dual meet for the President’s Cup with Hyde-Woodstock.
