FALMOUTH — The Mt. Ararat Middle School ice hockey Eagles skated past Windam in 8-0 at the Family Ice Center on Sunday.
Ryley Austin came right out of the starting gate, scoring Mt. Ararat’s first goal in just 38 seconds of the first period. MA kept the pressure on throughout the period with Steve Schuman and Ryley Austin each scoring.
Just 28 seconds into the second period Cam Grant executed a quick slapper in traffic to beat Windham’s goalie high on the glove side, assisted by Schuman.
In a hat-trick-plus-one debut effort, Austin netted two more in the second period in his first MA game of the season.
In the third period, Mark Abreu belted a slap shot to the top-left-corner from just inside the blue line to make it 7-0, assisted by Cam Grant and Noah Austin. The final goal was scored by Sam Alexander, finding the open net after a tough puck battle.
The next MA Middle School game is at UNE in Biddeford against Scarborough on Sunday.
