BRUNSWICK — Cony used a 10-5 third-quarter run to take control and held on in a 35-30 victory over the Brunswick High School girls jayvee Orange squad on Friday.
The Dragons (0-1) led 7-6 after a quarter and 18-17 at the half, but fell behind 27-23 heading to the fourth quarter.
Brunswick closed the gap to a single point in the fourth quarter, but Cony managed to hold on.
The Dragons were paced by Gillian Doehring’s nine points, while Sasha Hampton added seven points. Doehring and Molly Roan led the Brunswick defensive effort.
