BOWDOINHAM — Candace Adams (Ballou) Meads of Bowdoinham died peacefully at home in front of her Christmas tree, with family at her side, on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

She is survived by her husband, Bradley Meads of Bowdoinham; two sisters, Sherry Ballou Hanson of Brunswick and Julia Ballou Wright of Concord, N.H.; a brother, Arthur William Ballou Jr of Coventry, England; two nephews, Harry Elmer Hanson Jr. of Illinois and Eric Leif Hanson of Portland, Ore.; and a niece, Tiffany Jade Ballou of Coventry,

England.

Candi was born Feb. 20, 1946, in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Marjorie Clapp Ballou and Arthur William Ballou. She enjoyed a very successful career in the computer field, retiring as a senior technical specialist with PaySys, a worldwide software company. In accordance with her wishes, there will be a private service in the spring when Candi’s ashes will be offered to the sea by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bowdoinham Public Library, 13 School St., Bowdoinham, ME 04008.
