AUBURN — Adam Lebrun scored with 2.1-seconds remaining to lift the Edward Little High School boys hockey team to a 2-1 victory over Mt. Ararat/Lisbon in the Gipper’s Tournament at Ingersol Arena on Friday.

Down 1-0 after EL’s Cedric Simons scored, the Eagles (2-2 and scheduled to visit Cony this upcoming Saturday) tied it on a goal by Logan McGuire, assisted by Eric Stuckey.

The Red Eddies held a 25-13 shots advantage. Mt. Ararat/Lisbon netminder Zach O’Connor turned aside 23 shots, while EL goaltender Zach Gosselin had 12 saves.

Playing well for Mt. Ararat/Lisbon were defensemen Jeremy Williams and Shane Cyr.

In the Gipper’s Tournament consolation game (noncountable) on Saturday, the Eagles were hurt by seven penalties and 24 saves from Patriots netminder Calvin Shelley.

Kalen Bridgham scored all three goals on the power play, including two on five power plays in the third period.

O’Connor had 20 saves.

Ariel Potter scored three goals and picked up two assists as the Clippers doubled up the Eagles on Friday at Sidney J. Watson Arena.

Katie Brown chipped in two goals and two helpers, while Emily Johnson had one goal and two assists for 3-5-1 Yarmouth/Freeport.

The trio of Devon Hutchins, Anne McIntire and Carly Raymond accounted for all of Mt. Ararat’s (0-8) scoring. Hutchins had two goals and an assist, Raymond one goal and two helpers, and McIntire three assists.

In goal, Alison Nolan made 18 saves in the loss, while Yarmouth/Freeport keeper Hannah Williams turned aside 17 shots.

The Eagles will play in the Brunswick Holiday Tournament at Watson Arena on Wednesday.
