CAPE ELIZABETH – Alexis L’Heureux-Carland and Skye Dole combined for 15 points in the final period Saturday night, helping Fryeburg Academy pull away to a 56-48 victory against Cape Elizabeth in a Western Maine Conference schoolgirl basketball game.

The Raiders (2-4) shot 11 of 14 from the line in the fourth and finished on a 17-9 run.

Dole finished with 15 points, L’Heureux-Carland had 10 and Julia Quinn had 12. Marlo Dell’Aquila scored 10 for the Capers (1-5).

DEERING 68, BONNY EAGLE 39: Marissa MacMillan scored 19 points and Chelsea Saucier added 15 to lead Deering (6-0) over Bonny Eagle (1-6) at Standish.

LeeAnn Downs added 11 points for Deering, which took advantage of 10 first-quarter turnovers to open a 19-7 lead.

NOKOMIS 51, MEDOMAK VALLEY 25: Lacey Kent-Webber scored 12 points to lead Nokomis (6-0) over the Panthers (1-6) at Waldoboro.

Kelsie Richards and Lindsay Whitney each had 10 points for the Warriors.

GORHAM 72, PORTLAND 40: Lexi Merrifield scored seven of her 17 points in the first quarter as the Rams (3-3) took a 21-3 lead and cruised past the Bulldogs (1-6) at Gorham.

Kristin Ross added 16 points and Molly Merrifield scored 10 for the Rams.

Cierra Burnham paced Portland with 17 points.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 48, MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 26: Led by Merissa Look and Leslie Sandefur, the Eagles (3-4) took a 19-10 first-quarter lead and went on to beat the Huskies (0-6) at Newcastle.

Jennifer Genthner led a balanced offense for the Eagles with nine points. Look, Sandefur and Ashley Mason added seven points apiece.

Brianna Losee paced MCI with eight points.

HOCKEY

LEWISTON 3, YARMOUTH 2: Sam Cote’s unassisted goal broke a 2-2 tie and Lewiston (8-2) went on to defeat the Clippers (3-6-1) at Yarmouth.

Cote was charging the net when a clearing pass deflected off her with 51 seconds left in the second period.

Lewiston opened a 2-0 lead on second-period goals by Natalie Rousseau and Mikaela Brown, but Michelle Robichaud and Katie Brown countered for Yarmouth, tying the game with 1:38 left in the period.

Brianna Lajoie made 13 saves for the Blue Devils, and Hannah Williams 20 for Yarmouth.

GORHAM/BONNY EAGLE 6, CHEVERUS 4: Maddie Hamblen made 37 saves, and Charlotte Smith collected two goals and one assist to lead Gorham/Bonny Eagle (4-4) over the Stags (2-6-1) at Portland.

Meghan Chushing added one goal and two assists for Gorham/Bonny Eagle, and Rachel Litif finished with three assists.

Katie Roy scored three goals for Cheverus.

FRIDAY’S BASKETBALL

CHEVERUS 57, MARSHWOOD 33: Brooke Flaherty had 16 points and seven rebounds, and Georgia Ford scored 14 points to lead Cheverus (6-0) against Marshwood (1-5) at Portland.
