Maine veteran fly fisherman, fly tyer and bamboo fly rod maker Joel Anderson will present his thoughts and experiences on fishing soft- hackled wet flies for trout and salmon at Sebago TU’s chapter meeting. State snowshoe race

Jan. 20 in East Orland

The Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust is hosting the Maine qualifier for the 2013 Dion National Snowshoe Championships on Jan. 20. This 4.9-mile run and walk on snowshoes starts at noon. Registration begins at 10 a.m. at the Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery on Route 1 in East Orland. Entry fee is $10 for preregistration by Jan. 17, or $15 on the day of the race.
