TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School jayvee girls basketball team beat Messalonskee 41-39 and toppled Lewiston 39-38 in recent action.
Against Messalonskee, Mt. Ararat led 10-9, 23-22 and 34-30 at the quarters. Leading scorer was Kristen Pierce with 17 points, while Messalonskee’s Taylor Easler had 12.
At the line, Mt. Ararat was 13 of 23 and Messalonskee three of eight.
In the Lewiston contest the teams were tied at 7-7 after one quarter and Lewiston led 17-13 at the half and 30-26 after three quarters.
Leading scorers were Pierce with 12 points, Libby Davis with nine and Sara Lamb with eight. Lewiston’s Kristina Blais had 12.
At the line, Mt., Ararat (5-3) was 14 of 27 and Lewiston four of seven.
