LIVERMORE FALLS (AP) — Livermore Falls is considering seceding from Androscoggin County and joining Franklin County.
The select board in the community voted this week to investigate the possibility of switching counties.
Resident and state Rep. L. Gary Knight is sponsoring a bill to research the economic impact of a move.
He and others say a move makes financial sense. Livermore Falls is on the border between the counties and about 15 miles closer to the Franklin County seat than to the Androscoggin County seat.
