RICHMOND — Randy Moody forced three turnovers leading to six quick fourthquarter points as the Richmond High School boys basketball team pulled away for a 45-39 East-West Conference victory over Buckfield on Tuesday.
The Bobcats, who lost to North Yarmouth Academy on Monday, improved to 3-6 and hosts Vinalhaven on Friday and Saturday.
Richmond made all five of its fourth-quarter free throws.
“Buckfield played a 1-3-1 zone, and we finally clicked by moving the ball around and getting some open shots,” said Richmond coach Jon Spear. “Randy Moody stepped up. He had 14 points, 10 rebounds and five steals.”
The Bobcats led 10-7 after a quarter, but the Bucks battled back for a 19-19 deadlock at the half. The game was still tied, 29-29, after 24 minutes.
Cam Emmons chipped in 10 points for Richmond, while Sean Bernier had eight points. The Bobcats finished nine of 12 from the foul line.
Micah Madore paced Buckfield (3-5) with a game-high 16 points, with Keenan Stockdale adding 13. The Bucks were five of 13 at the charity stripe.

The host Saints used a 17-7 scoring advantage to take control for a Mountain Valley Conference win at Auburn.
Lisbon, 2-6 and scheduled to visit Madison at Saturday, trailed 10-9 after a quarter, but St. Dom’s (3-4) went up 27- 16 at the half and held a 40-25 advantage after 24 minutes.
“We were nine from 12 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter, and had an opportunity to cut it to seven,” said Lisbon coach Jake Gentle.
Madison Jalbert and Eric Ulin each scored 10 points for the Saints, with Mike Bryant adding nine.
Tucker Brannon paced the Greyhounds with nine points, while Mason Haley chipped in six. Lisbon finished 15 of 22 at the line, but just 10 of 51 from the floor. Brannon had five rebounds.
St. Dom’s was seven of 15 at the charity stripe.

Anthony DiMauro scored 22 points as the visiting Seahawks improved to 8-1 with an MVC win at Wiscasset.
“We didn’t get out of the gate well, and we failed to control DiMauro in the second quarter,” said Wiscasset (4-4) coach Dana Lawrence, whose Wolverines have dropped three straight and host Carrabec on Saturday (game time has been changed to 1:30 p.m.).
Boothbay posted quarterly leads of 13-6, 43-22 and 54-36.
Austin Haskell had 10 points and four assists, Dale Peaslee nine points and 13 rebounds, and Dylan McMahon eight points to pace Wiscasset, which was 16 of 26 at the foul line.
John Hepburn chipped in 15 points for Boothbay, which finished eight of 17 at the charity stripe.

Visiting Fryeburg Academy hit a fourth-quarter 3-pointer to pull away for a Western Maine Conference win at Freeport (1-7).
“It was a four-point game at the end of three quarters, but turnovers caused by their pressure cost us,” said Freeport coach Matt Cook, whose Falcons host Greely on Friday.
After an 8-8 tie after a quarter, the visitors took a 20-17 lead to the break and led 32-28 through three.
Chandler Birmingham scored a game-high 17 points for Freeport, while Ramsey Dodge chipped in six points. Jack Davenport pulled down nine rebounds, and the Falcons did not attempt a free throw.
Walker Mallory paced Fryeburg (2-6) with 16 points, with Jaquan Couser adding 13. Fryeburg was 12 of 17 at the line.
