Buxton Toy Box ?big success

The Buxton Toy Box Committee thanked the community for its generosity last year.

This year, the Toy Box provided “Christmas magic” for 149 children in 70 Buxton families, the town’s Toy Box Committee – Mia Dodge, Joan P. Kavouksorian and Carolyn Snell – reported this week.

“Thank you to the townspeople of Buxton for all your generosity. Elves all over town and beyond donated money; shopped for toys, clothes, books, bedding, dinners, and games; sorted and wrapped presents; ran errands, and spread holiday cheer,” the committee said in a statement.

Since 1995, the Toy Box Committee has collected and distributed donated toys, clothes and a variety of other items to needy Buxton children.

The Bonny Eagle High School National Honor Society bought and donated hats, mittens and gloves to Woodfords Family Services for foster children in the greater Portland area.
