BRUNSWICK — For the second week in a row, sophomore Jamie Ruginski set a school record to highlight the University of Southern Maine men’s indoor track and field team’s performance Saturday at Bowdoin College.
Ruginski broke the school record for the triple jump with his mark of 47-03.50 on his final attempt.
Senior Parker Chipman of Pownal was second in the 400 meters with his time of 51.41. Chipman’s time qualified him for the New England Division III meet in February.
The Huskies will compete this upcoming weekend at the Bates College Invitational. Competition begins Friday with the first day’s events in the heptathlon.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
