To the Editor:
Thanks to The Times Record and to Larry Grard for the coverage of our house move (“Moving Day for student built home,” page A1, Jan. 11).
The Bath Regional Career and Technical Center is an integral part of the Bath community, providing applied learning opportunities for students from Boothbay Region High School, Lincoln Academy, and Morse and Wiscasset high schools, and we are proud of the work we do.
I wish to add some information for our readers and to correct the impression the article gives that I might have had a direct hand in the building of the house we just moved.
The house was built by our carpentry students, under the able direction of Tony Trippi, our carpentry instructor. The house was wired by our electricity students, under the direction of instructor Steve Vachon. It is they, the students and instructors, whose efforts resulted in the house that my wife and I purchased and moved to Middle Street, they who should get credit for the quality work that has gone into that house.
It is also important to note that the job of moving that house and all that goes into creating a finished product is being overseen by Dirigo Custom Structures in Bath. It is they who made the move happen that day and who will deliver a finished product in the next few weeks.
Again, thanks for covering our move and for permitting me this opportunity to give credit where it is due.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
