TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School jayvee girls basketball team split two games in recent action.
The 6-4 Eagles lost to Brewer, 50-44, trailing 12-8, 23-14 and 43-33 at the breaks.
Leading scorers for Mt. Ararat were Erin Tome with 15 points and Kristen Pierce with eight. Summer Becker and Bri Hamilton were defensive standouts. Delaney Davis scored 21 for Brewer.
At the foul line, Mt. Ararat was eight of 18 and Brewer nine of 18.
At Hampden, Mt. Ararat prevailed 38-21 with quarterly leads of 10-2, 22-7 and 28-7.
Allison Melcher and Sara Lamb scored eight points each, and Tome added seven.
Mt. Ararat was 10 of 20 at the line and Hampden nine of 22.
