BATH — Dorothy I. Craige, 102, of Bath, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 16th, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born in Bath on April 15th, 1910, the daughter of James A. & Annie (McNeill) Craige; she grew up in Bath and attended Bath schools.

When her father passed away, Dot left school in her junior year to take care of her younger brothers and sister so her mother could work to support the family. Dot was very happy to help out and it led to a lifetime career of care giving for her. She was very family oriented and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. Later in years she took care of her older sister, and many other family members as they took ill. She was always there to help with anything they needed.

Dot also worked for a short time prior to and during WWII as a stitcher for The Shirt Factory or now known as the Maine Guide Company.

Dot wasn’t much for travel, she was very much a homebody who enjoyed being around her family and loved to do crossword puzzles. She was a special lady and will be missed by all those that loved her.

Dot is predeceased by her sisters, Marie Shepard and her husband Charles, Jeanette Lane and her husband Dana; brothers, Clifton (Jim) Craige, Edwin Craige, J. Herbert Craige and his wife Phyllis and Myron (Mick) and his wife Frances and nephew Charles (Bud) Shepard.

She leaves behind a brother, John Whitney Craige and his wife Marrion of Bath, 2 nephews, Craig Lane and his wife Betsy of Georgetown and John Craige of Lisbon Falls; nieces, Gail Woods and her husband Rick of VA, Carol Marshall and her husband David of Bath, Janice Singer and her husband Steve of MA, Linda Graham and her husband Rick of Lisbon, Mary Lewis and her husband Gary of ME, Anne Koteras of TX, Susan Craige of Bath and Betty Shepard of Bath; several grand nieces & nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
