FREEPORT — Lake Region jumped out to a big first-quarter lead and maintained it from there for a 43-20 victory over Freeport in high school girls jayvee basketball action on Tuesday.
Lake Region’s Ali Morse had a game-high 23 points, with Meagan Van Loan adding 11.
Freeport (2-8) was led by Bailey Karnes’ five points, two steals and two rebounds, with point guard Jess Perry chipping in four points and seven steals.
The Lakers were seven of 16 at the charity stripe, while the Falcons finished two of eight.
On Thursday, Wells dealt the Falcons a 35-14 loss.
After taking a 5-4 lead in the first quarter, the host Warriors pulled away, holding a 15-5 edge at the half and a 21-9 advantage after three quarters.
Ali Duplisea led Freeport with 10 points, with Rachel Boyce of Wells leading her squad with nine points. The Warriors were 13 of 21 from the foul line, while Freeport was six of 13.
