PORTLAND (AP) — High winds and rain are causing power outages across Maine.
About 11,000 customers are without electricity this morning.
Bangor Hydro Electric Co. is reporting more than 9,300 customers without power. Lincoln is one of the hardest hit communities, with nearly 1,800 outages.
Central Maine Power is reporting about 1,600 outages, with the Knox County communities of Hope and Union the hardest hit.
The National Weather Service has forecast sustained winds of 40 mph or stronger, and gusts upward of 60 to 65 mph along coastal areas of eastern Maine.
