TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School freshman boys basketball team picked up two recent wins.
The 10-4 Eagles beat Skowhegan 69-33, with quarterly leads of 18-0, 42-7 and 55- 22.
Alex LaFountain had 12 points, while Eli Timberlake and Eric Segars got 10 each, and Garrett Bolduc was a top rebounder.
Skowhegan’s Will Stinson had 11 points and Cole Verville 10.
Mt. Ararat is 10-4 and is scheduled to host Lewiston on Feb. 5.
In other action, the Eagles nipped Erskine Academy 49- 44. After a 12-12 first-period tie, the Eagles led 33-18 at the at the half (ended the quarter on a 15-2 run) and 49-27 after three.
LaFountain popped in 17 points, Harper Moutal 15 and Zach Garvey 12.
For Erskine, Mark Buzzell had 14 points and Matt Clary seven.
