The Plum Creek wilderness sled dog race scheduled for Saturday was postponed for one week due to the effects of warm rainy weather on trail conditions. The 100-mile race will be held at 9 a.m. Feb. 9 at Leisure Life Resort in Greenville. The event is free to spectators, and family events like snowshoe races for all ages will be held during the day with a bonfire in the evening. The University of Southern Maine department of athletics will host its annual Think Pink charitable event Saturday to help raise awareness and charitable donations for cancer research and prevention. The men’s and women’s basketball teams will host a doubleheader against Keene State at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., and the men’s hockey team will host UNE at 4 p.m.
