BRUNSWICK —Lewiston High School used a decisive 10-2 third quarter advantage to defeat the Brunswick Orange squad 38-34 in girls junior varsity basketball action on Friday.
Brunswick opened the game with a 7-2 run before the Blue Devils closed the opening quarter with an 8-7 deficit. The Dragons took an 18-16 lead into the locker room.
Brunswick managed only one field goal in the third quarter before responding with a 14-12 fourth-quarter rally. Sasha Hampton scored nine of her game-high 12 points in the fourth quarter.
Samiera McMullen added 11 points for the Dragons as both forwards were active on the boards, collecting 18 rebounds between them. Elizabeth Day played well defensively.
Megan Cullins led Lewiston with eight points, while Maggie Phelan and Amanda Swart added seven each.
