BRUNSWICK
A Brunswick police officer responding to a crash around 9 a.m. Wednesday came upon an argument in a parking lot along Bath Road that caused a man to pull an axe from his vehicle.
No one was injured or charged in the incident, which occurred at 9:04 a.m. in the T-Mobile parking lot.
Brunswick police Lt. Tom Garrepy said a good Samaritan observed a man involved in a domestic verbal argument in the parking lot and approached the man, who then allegedly threatened the intervening man by asking, “Do you want to get stabbed?”
The good Samaritan then allegedly responded by pulling an axe from his car.
The initial contact with police was from Brunswick police Officer Julia Gillespie, who came upon the incident as she was headed to a crash on Bath Road.
Both men were issued warnings for disorderly conduct, Garrepy said.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
