LEWISTON — Senior Allie Beaulieu tied a career high with 26 points Tuesday night to lead Bates to a 105-56 women’s basketball win over the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

The Bobcats (12-11) posted season highs in points (105), field-goal percentage (.620) and assists (34).

Junior Meredith Kelly scored 22 points and sophomore Kristin Calvo added 12, both career highs. Taryn O’Connell and Brianna Hawkins were also in double figures with 13 and 11 points.

UNE 66, ENDICOTT 57: Beth Suggs scored 13 points, leading a group of four Nor’easters in double figures in the University of New England’s victory over Endicott College at Biddeford.

The Nor’easters (19-4) are perfect in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with a 16-0 record. Endicott is 13-10 on the season, 9-7 in the conference.

Lauren Hayden, Kelly Coleman and Sadie DiPierro scored 10 points apiece for UNE.

ST. JOSEPH’S 60, LASELL 45: Lindsay Moore scored 17 points to lead St. Joseph’s (13-10, 7-3 GNAC) over Lasell (9-14, 4-7 GNAC) at Standish.

The Monks outscored the visitors 16-4 over the final six minutes of the first half to carry a 27-21 lead into the break.

Abby Young added 11 points for St. Joseph’s and Danyelle Shufelt contributed 12 points.

(1) BAYLOR 89, TEXAS TECH 47: Brittney Griner had 10 points and 11 rebounds for her 54th career double-double, and the top-ranked Bears moved closer to another Big 12 title at Waco, Texas, winning their 21st straight game.

(2) UCONN 105, PROVIDENCE 49: Kaleena Mosqueda Lewis scored 17 points and Kelly Faris added 16 to lead Connecticut (23-1, 10-1 Big East) to a win at Providence, R.I., the Huskies’ fourth 100-point game this season.


ST. JOSEPH’S 66, NORWICH 49: Matthew Medeiros scored 11 of his team-leading 17 points in the first half to lead the Monks (15-8, 10-6 GNAC) over Norwich (6-17, 3-13) at Standish.

Nicholas Jobin added 11 points for the Monks and Zach Blodgett scored 10.

UNE 60, ENDICOTT 59: Jesse Dykstra scored 15 points and hauled in 10 rebounds as the University of New England (5-18, 4-12) defeated Endicott (9-14, 4-12) at Biddeford.

Devin Thompson finished with 13 points for UNE, while Chris Ouellette added 10.

COLBY 76, CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 65: Colby (7-16, 3-7) earned a NESCAC playoff spot with a win over Connecticut College (7-16, 0-10) at Medford, Mass.

For Colby, Luke Westman finished with 18 points, Patrick Stewart had 16 and Chris Hudnut added 14.

SMCC 111, UMA 84: Emmanuel Donalson led all scorers with 33 points as Southern Maine Community College (19-10, 12-5) downed the University of Maine-Augusta at South Portland.

Jon Amabile scored 27 for the Seawolves, Jacob Loveridge added 15 points and 14 rebounds, Jose Nouchanthavong chipped in with 11 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, and Mike Harmon scored 10 points.


USM 2, NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE 0: Southern Maine goalie Liz Bergstrom made 26 saves to shut out New England College (7-10-6, 4-8-4 LEC) at the USM Ice Arena in Gorham. The Huskies are now 6-11-6 overall and 5-7-4 in Little East play.

Brittany Soar scored USM’s first goal, unassisted, and Cassandra Sherman converted a pass from Katie Davis for an insurance goal.


COLBY 4, WESLEYAN 2: Nick Lanza scored two goals for Colby (5-14-3, 3-11-2 NESCAC) in a win over Wesleyan (9-9-4, 5-7-4), at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H.

Ray Zeek and Jack Bartlett both scored their fourth goals of the season to round out the scoring.
