SOUTH PORTLAND – Police are investigating the armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver Saturday night near the Maine Mall.

According to police, the driver met with an “alleged customer” in front of a building at the Olde English Village Apartments at 499 Westbrook St. in South Portland at around 10 p.m. While speaking with the customer, two unidentified men approached from a corner of the building and threatened the delivery driver. One was armed with a knife, and the other a handgun. They demanded the victim give them his money, which he did. The two suspects left on foot in the direction of Westbrook Street with a small amount of cash and the pizza. The customer also fled on foot in the same direction, and is believed to be involved in the robbery, police said. The victim was not injured during the incident.

The police are not releasing the name of the delivery driver at this time, citing “investigative reasons.”

The suspects are described as follows: Black male in his early 20s, 5-foot-7, with a thin build, red bandana covering his face and a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants; Black male in his early 20s, 5-foot-6, with a thin build, red and grey bandana covering his face and a black hooded sweatshirt and pants;

Dark-skinned black male, approximately 20 years of age, 5-foot-5 and 120 pounds, with “very crooked” front teeth.
