BOSTON — Parker Chipman of Pownal earned All- American honors at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Associated New England Championships on Saturday at Boston University.
Chipman finished sixth in the 800-meter run, crossing in 1:53.09 to finish sixth.
Sophomore Kevin Desmond established a school record in the 800 on Friday (1:51.70) and finished eighth on Saturday with a time of 1:59.09.
Chipman also ran a leg of the4x400relay,justmissing the school record by .01-seconds in 3:18.81. USM was ninth in the race.
The Huskies closed the meet with 12 points to tie with American International College for 16th place. The University of Connecticut won the team title with 164.50 points.
USM will send qualified competitors to the ECAC Division III Championships this upcoming Friday and Saturday. The event will be held at New York University.
