WAKEFIELD, Mass. — John G. Wishart, 84, of Wakefield died on Friday, February 22, 2013, at the Sunrise Senior Living in Braintree.

Born in Lewiston, Maine on December 5, 1928, he was the son of the late Archibald and Elizabeth (Ramsay) Wishart.

Mr. Wishart was a graduate of Morse High School in Bath, Maine, Class of 1946 and had received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine, Class of 1951. He retired in 1992 from Raytheon’s Missile Systems Division after a 34 year career. Following retirement he worked part time delivering flowers for Parker Florist in Wakefield. Mr. Wishart was a 50 year member of the Solar Masonic Lodge in Bath, Maine and was a board member for 15 years for the Wakefield Little League. He had served in the United States Army.

Mr. Wishart was the husband of the late Barbara G. (Greene) Wishart. He is survived by his son, Scott Wishart and his wife Kara of Braintree; his two daughters, Ann Decker and her husband Dwight of Lynnfield and Albuquerque, NM and Gay Neilson and her husband Paul of Denver, CO. Mr. Wishart is also survived by his 6 grandchildren: Katherine and Andrew Decker, Chris and Peter Neilson and Michael and Meredith Wishart.

His funeral service will be held in the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St., Lynnfield on Saturday at 11 am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday from 4-8 pm. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
