Pops Night, hosted by the Bonny Eagle High School music program, is taking place at the Bonny Eagle High School Cafeteria on Thursday, March 7, at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are by donation.

For the past three years the music program has presented a Pops Night concert featuring students doing solo and small group performances on contemporary rock, pop and jazz pieces. The concert also usually has a guest artist perform alone and sometimes with students.

This year, music students will present a variety of pieces in small groups, and in larger ensembles encompassing music from television to movies to popular rock and pop pieces.

The guest artist this year will be Jan Gill, a local vocalist and keyboard player with a background in blues, soul, and rock. Jan will be featured on some of her own pieces, and students will be featured in playing pieces they have chosen for the concert.

The night will also double as a fundraising event, and brownie sundaes, beverages, and baked goods will be for sale, and donations will be accepted for the Bonny Eagle Music Boosters.

Come check out the sounds, and some good food in a comfortable atmosphere at this year’s Pops Night Concert. For more information, e-mail Jake Sturtevant at [email protected].
