BRUNSWICK — A local man was taken into custody early Friday morning after an armed standoff with police.
Matthew W. Senecal, 39, of Emerald Lane, was arrested after allegedly firing one shot from a high-powered rifle in his garage and threatening his family late Thursday night, according to police.
Senecal’s wife and two children fled and alerted police.
The incident precipitated a standoff with police that lasted until 5:40 a.m. Friday, when Senecal surrendered and was arrested. No injuries were reported.
Senecal was held on $25,000 bail after police charged him with domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
Senecal is scheduled to appear in Cumberland County Unified Court on May 21.
