THE BATH-BRUNSWICK Area Adult Special Olympics BBAASO BEARS Alpine Ski Team competed in its first Special Olympics Winter Games at Sugarloaf on Jan. 27-29. Competing at the Intermediate Level in Super G, Giant Slalom and Slalom were Mike O’Connell, Mitch Pfeifle and Anna McDougal. Congratulations to Mike for taking home a gold medal and fourth- and fifth-place ribbons; Mitch with a bronze medal and two fourth-place ribbons; and Anna with two bronze medals and a fourth-place ribbon. Competing at the Novice level was Matt Esculano, who took home two silver medals. At the Beginner level, Sam Eberhart took home one gold and two silver medals, while Lindsey Lavallee earned a gold medal in the 10-meter walking event.
