ALFRED (AP) — The insurance agent who served as the business partner of a Zumba instructor who engaged in prostitution was released from jail on Friday.

Mark Strong Sr., 57, of Thomaston completed his sentence after serving 15 days for convictions on charges of conspiracy and promotion of prostitution, officials said. His 20-day sentence was reduced for good behavior at the York County Jail.

Strong decided against pursuing legal appeals and wants to get on with his life and to reconcile with his family, said Tina Nadeau, one of his defense lawyers. A message left at Strong’s Thomaston office wasn’t immediately returned.

Strong’s release from jail comes in time to see his son get married.

Zumba instructor Alexis Wright has pleaded guilty under an agreement in which she’ll serve 10 months. Her sentencing date is May 31.

Wright was accused of conspiring with Strong to run a sophisticated prostitution business in which prosecutors say she made $150,000 over an 18-month period. She also was accused of using a hidden camera to record sex acts without her clients’ knowledge.
