Spring has not Sprung

As of this writing, spring is off to a super slow start. Just last Friday we had a weather-related early release from school. Many are complaining they are sick of being cold! Ditto. I am hoping by the time you read this, you are wearing spring jackets and enjoying the bloom of the flowers. This weather is even holding up the Causeway construction crews who are scheduled to return this month to finish the job. The paving needed to be done has to be done at the right temperatures, and if the cool weather continues, that paving could be held up until well into May, causing traffic delays at the start of the busy season.

Naples Comedy Night

Lights and sound will increase the overall experience, donated by Bill Adams entertainment! The evening begins at 6 p.m. when you can view silent auction items donated by local businesses. Dinner is served at 7, and the laughs begin at 8 p.m. A cash bar will be available. New Chamber Executive

Naples own Barbara Clark, former executive director of the Sebago Lakes Chamber of Commerce, has been hired as the new executive director of the Greater Bridgton Chamber. Barbara brings years of experience both as a head of a chamber as well as a former senior manager at AT&T. That experience translates into Barbara knowing the ins and outs of business and what kind of support local businesses need to succeed. We are fortunate to have such a seasoned leader at the helm of the Bridgton Chamber. Great luck to Jim Mains, the outstanding former Executive Director who has moved on to become the general manager of the Bridgton Highlands Golf Course.

New to Us Playground Equipment

Moms of small children will now have another reason to visit the newly redesigned Naples Town Beach. The town has acquired some used equipment in great condition and plans are to move the structure down to the town beach as soon as weather permits. What a great addition to the beach that should be. And at half of the cost of buying it new, a great deal to boot!

Every Day at the Beach

Sound good? It could be yours. The town of Naples is seeking caretakers to live on the Naples Town Beach in a mobile home in exchange for 20 hours of labor per week to maintain the beach and boat launch areas. There is no pay for the job, but you will get to live free of charge, as the town will supply a campsite with water, electricity and sewer hookups. For more information, contact the Naples Town Office at 693-6364.

Legally Blonde

Just wanted to congratulate the talented cast and crew of the Lake Region High School Drama Club for their production of this funny musical. The singing, acting, everything, was fantastic and top notch. Great job!
