School Regional Unit 1 will conduct a public forum to discuss the proposed 2013-14 budget on Monday, April 29.

The board of directors meeting at Fisher-Mitchell School begins at 6 p.m.

RSU 1 is considering a $27.7 million budget that would represent a 6.6 percent increase from this year. As the figures now stand, $18.56 million — an increase of 7.1 percent — would be raised through taxes.

The board hopes to pass a budget May 6 at Bath Middle School. The spending plan then heads to two public votes — a district budget meeting May 28, then municipal validation referendums June 4.
