The University of Maine at Augusta’s proposed new bachelor of science in aviation program was approved this past weekend by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

The program can now begin accepting students for this coming fall, UMA President Allyson Handley said. “With a projected increase in demand for commercial airline pilots in this country and abroad, we are launching this program at precisely the right time,” she said.
