Falmouth students are Presidential Scholar semifinalists
Falmouth High School seniors Caroline Levy and Emma Sapat were selected as two of the approximately 550 semifinalists to advance to the final round of the 2013 U.S. Presidential Scholars competition. Each year, up to 141 students are named as U.S. Presidential Scholars, based on two paths of accomplishment. To be considered for a merit scholarship award, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition. The majority of Scholars are selected on the basis of broad academic achievement, while about 20 additional students are selected on the basis of their academic and artistic scholarship in the visual arts, the performing arts, or creative writing. From nearly 3.2 million graduating high school seniors this year, approximately 3,900 students were identified as candidates in the program.
