DRESDEN — A fire that was contained to the basement of a Middle Road home Tuesday morning remains under investigation today, according to Dresden Fire Chief Gerald Lilly.
Dresden Fire Department and several neighboring fire departments responded at approximately 10:45 a.m. Tuesday to a fire at 729 Middle Road. No one was home at the time of the fire, which Lilly said was reported by a neighbor. The fire was knocked down in time to contain flames to the basement. The rest of the house sustained only smoke damage.
Lilly said this afternoon that the state fire marshal’s office is still investigating the cause of the fire.
