PHIPPSBURG — Small Point Baptist Church is honoring veterans on Sunday, May 26, during its second annual special “Motorcycle Sunday” breakfast and service.
Free breakfast for bikers is available from 8-9 a.m., followed by a special worship service for Memorial Day where organizers will present a musical program against the backdrop of a powerful video.
Time will be taken to honor all vets from all services, and there will be a coffee time to meet with guests.
Pastor Dan Coffin will then lead a special “Blessing of the Bikes.” He’ll meet each rider/team at their motorcycle and offer a personal word of prayer for them for their life, their ride season and safe travels for them.
In addition, the church will has a gift bag for each attendee. The bag contains a special edition of the New Testament aimed at bikers, a copy of “An Anchor for the Soul,” by Ray Pritchard, a letter from the pastor and some small gift items to remember the day and honor them as citizens.
This service has become a yearly part of the church’s ministry plan.
The church is located at 1754 Main Road (Route 209 South), Phippsburg.
To finish the day, there will be a fun ride, with donations accepted to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
