The Androscoggin Brunswick-Topsham Riverwalk Advisory Committee is looking for more volunteers to help clear invasive vegetation from the Riverwalk trail on Sunday.
Bittersweet vines and multiflora rose vines will be the primary targets during the work session, which will start at 8 a.m. and finish at noon.
To assist in the cleanup, volunteers should bring hand tools including clippers, loppers and pruning saws and wear sturdy gloves, long pants and heavy long-sleeve shirts to protect against the rose thorns. Parking is available at the Topsham and Brunswick ends of the Swinging Bridge.
An announcement about the cleanup states the committee is also in need of more loppers.
The Androscoggin Brunswick-Topsham Riverwalk is a 1.25-mile loop path in Brunswick and Topsham that incorporates the Androscoggin Swinging Bridge and the Frank J. Wood Bridge.
The path winds past the Topsham Heights and Northwest Brunswick neighborhoods and links Maine Street in Brunswick to the Topsham Lower Village.
