BRUNSWICK — Four Bowdoin College track and field athletes have qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship in selections announced by the national office on Sunday.
The championship meet is scheduled for Thursday-Saturday at Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Coby Horowitz, Jacob Ellis, Erin Silva and Katherine Harmon all earned bids to the championship.
Horowitz qualified in both the 1500 meters and 5K races. A multiple-time All-American in track and cross country, the junior is seeded fifth (3:48.77) in the 1500 and 17th (14:27.45) in the 5K. The 1500 race is scheduled for Thursday at 4:45 p.m., with the 5K slated for 5:55 p.m. on Saturday.
A freshman, Ellis is seeded 11th (1:51.57) in the 800. That competition is scheduled for 7:25 p.m. on Friday evening.
Sophomore pole vaulter Silva is the 21th qualifier (11- 11.75) for the women’s pole vault. The event is scheduled to begin at 2:40 p.m. on Thursday.
The junior Harmon earned a trip to nationals by posting the 13th-best distance in the hammer throw (169-09). The event is scheduled to commence at 5 p.m. on Friday.
