BRUNSWICK — A pair of Bowdoin softball players received All-New England honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Senior shortstop Toni DaCampo and junior pitcher Melissa DellaTorre were recognized by the NFCA following the 2013 season.
DaCampo was a Third Team All-New England pick, while teammate DellaTorre was tabbed for the Second Team.
DellaTorre adds this All- New England selection to an All-NESCAC award announced earlier this month. Tying her personalbest and all-time program record with 14 wins, Della- Torre ranks third all-time in career wins (38) and strikeouts (351).
Appearing in all 44 games this season, DaCampo led the Polar Bears with a .360 batting average, collecting 49 hits, including 12 doubles and scoring 40 runs. The shortstop also added four home runs, 19 RBIs, a pair of triples and drew 24 walks to bring her on base percentage to .451.
The Polar Bears ended their season as NESCAC finalists after falling to eventual NCAA Champion Tufts in the conference championship game. Bowdoin completed the season with a 30-14 record that included a 13- game winning streak.
