HARPSWELL — Ronald A. Webber, 74, resident of Middle Road in Harpswell died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 27, 1938 in Brunswick, a son of Dean and Althea (Dunlap) Webber. He attended Brunswick schools.

Ron was self employed for many years as a septic and excavation contractor operating R.A. Webber and Sons and serving his community with quality work for many years.

Ron’s reason for living was his family. He loved spending time with family and grandchildren up at his camp, teaching them not only about the outdoors but many life lessons as well.

He was predeceased by his parents and a daughter DeeDee McPherson, who died in 2011.

Survivors include his wife Miriam E. “Mim” (Smith) Webber of Harpswell; two sons, Duane Webber of Harpswell, Michael and his wife Vickie Webber of Harpswell; two sisters, Deanna Purington and Dawn Webber; three brothers, Bob, Rick and Reg Webber; an uncle, Don Webber; six grandchildren, Jim, Meg and Kyle McPherson, Scott Webber, Keri Elwell and Thomas Webber, and three great-grandchildren, Hayden, Addison and Mason.

Visiting hours will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM with a Masonic service at 6:00 PM on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 25, 2103 at the funeral home with Pastor Veronica Gonsior officiating. Following cremation Ron’s urn will be interred in Cranberry Horn Cemetery, Harpswell at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
