BRUNSWICK — Mid Coast Hospital and Parkview Adventist Medical Center are among 16 Maine hospitals receiving an “A” grade from a national watchdog group.

Rankings were awarded by The Leapfrog Group, a national not-for-profit organization established by private health care groups and other national employers to “save lives by reducing errors, accidents and preventable medical and medication errors” as well as to “measure and publicly report” on hospital performance.

Other local hospitals to receive an “A” include Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta, Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, Central Maine Medical Center and St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Lewiston.
