AUGUSTA (AP) — The Maine Legislature has given overwhelming, bipartisan passage to a plan to reapportion House and Senate district lines to reflect shifts in the state’s population.

A unanimous Senate vote for the plan Wednesday sent it to Gov. Paul LePage.

Maine law requires legislative district and county commission maps be updated every 10 years based on population changes.
