HARPSWELL — A dedication ceremony for the recently completed Mitchell Field community bandstand is scheduled for 2 p.m. June 16.
In addition to local speakers, the 45-piece, multi-community concert band will play from inside its new home. The band includes musicians from Portland, Westbrook, Harpswell, Brunswick, Bristol, Topsham and Bath.
Volunteer laborers built the bandstand on weekends and during breaks between rain and snow over the past year. Private donations and community fundraising events paid for the materials.
