LEWISTON (AP) — Former Gov. John Baldacci is dishing out spaghetti to help people affected by a rash of apartment building fires in Lewiston.

Baldacci is hosting a spaghetti supper from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Lewiston High School. Proceeds go the United Way of Androscoggin County’s Lewiston Fire Relief Fund.

Baldacci’s family owned an Italian restaurant — Momma Baldacci’s — in Bangor and he has used spaghetti dinners to help those in need over the years. Previous fundraisers have helped Hurricane Katrina’s victims, a Portland agency that helps the homeless, and a retired state trooper who was stricken with Lou Gehrig’s disease.
