AUGUSTA (AP) — An Augusta man wanted in connection with the weekend stabbing of a city woman has been captured after three days on the run.

Police, acting on a tip, say 44-year-old David Delesline was located around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday near where the attack took place. He was charged with elevated aggravated assault.

Police tell the Kennebec Journal that Delesline, who had lacerations to both wrists, was taken to Maine- General Medical Center in Augusta for treatment and for a psychological evaluation.

He is being held without bail pending a court appearance scheduled for Friday.

Authorities say Delesline stabbed the 35-year-old victim several times about the head and face early Sunday morning. She has since been released from the hospital.
