Back here in the great state of Maine, we have some of those “yep we can types” trying with all of their might to lead the state of Maine straight into tax hell. Spend, spend and tax some more, making a gargantuan government all in the name of “fairness,” to quote Obama and Maine Democrats directly.
What they leave in their wake is more poverty, an anemic business climate, broken homes, domestic violence, abused children and then some. This is all time-tested and proven right here in Maine by decades of liberalism in charge.
Now for a very rare change, we have Gov. LePage who takes middle- and lower-income families’ well-being very seriously.
As I have mentioned before, LePage was homeless as a child and knows real hardship. He has known real oppression. When I see him fighting Democrats and becoming unpopular doing it in the eyes of the Pingree Press Herald, I have hope.
LePage is fighting Obamacare — from which Investors Business Daily says “premiums will soar” — with all he has. In short, many people could see their premiums increase five times what they’re paying now, according to a U.S. House committee report drawing on data from 17 major insurance companies.
The backbone of the American economy is small business. Small business employs most Americans in the private sector. Please take a moment to think about what that means.
Moms and dads, single parents, young entreprenuers, these are people. I wish Democrats could understand that. These people will be out of work from the crushing expenses to themselves in business or their employer.
I just talked to a single mom yesterday who is working and going to school to start a preschool play center. She is studying business. But with health care premiums increasing 50 to 100 percent, what chance does she have to grow her business if it takes off ? Not much.
Obamacare will crush the middle class by itself.
LePage is an American businessman. He sees the economic destruction coming straight at you like a freight train. He loves the Maine family and wants them to prosper through a free market. He rejects, out of hand, the centralized control of every aspect of your life that will come in Obamacare. But Democrats from Obama down through the Maine Legislature are promoting this tyranny in the name of “fairness.”
We conservatives love America. Democrats and John Boehner Republicans want socialism that has never worked everywhere it has been tried. Obama is even further left than that.
