TOPSHAM — Edith F. McDiarmid (Waruszyla), 90, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013.
Edith was born in Somerville, MA. After graduating from Lynn Classical High School and Burdett Business College, she worked at General Electric. After GE, Edith worked for many years at the Internal Revenue Service.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald McDiarmid; and eldest son John McDiarmid.
She is survived by daughter in-law, Zamira; son, Michael and his wife, Meg; and three grandchildren: Nathaniel, Henry, and Jack.
The family would like to thank all of Edith’s friends at the Highlands, especially the many staff members who went out of their way to become friends. The family would also like to thank Dr. John Parker, Dr. David Benton, and the caregivers at CHANS Hospice Care for their friendship, guidance, and care.
Per Edith’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Georgetown Community Center in Edith’s name: Georgetown Community Center, P.O. Box 103, Georgetown, ME 04548.
