OLD ORCHARD BEACH — The result of a recall vote for one Old Orchard Beach town councilor remains unchanged following a recount.
Michael Coleman requested the recount after he was removed from office by a margin of 11 votes. Following a recount Thursday at Old Orchard Beach High School, that margin was widened to 18 votes.
Coleman was among the six town councilors removed from office after months of political tension and bickering stemming from the firing of the town manager. Only one councilor, Bob Quinn, survived the recall.
Coleman said the recount showed he was removed from office by a vote of 1,082 to 1,063.
Kenny Blow, who was elected to replace Coleman, was sworn into office Monday.
