“We are thrilled that Kippy has agreed to use her many talents to help the festival continue the growth and success it has enjoyed in recent years,” said executive director Peter Simmons. “She has a wide range of experience in Maine that will serve the festival, the Mid-coast community, and the future of classical music very well.”
Rudy was most recently the executive director of Portland’s One Longfellow Square. For seven years prior to that, she was the executive director of VSA Maine, which had its headquarters in Brunswick. She has also worked in a variety of managerial, marketing, and fundraising positions at Portland Stage Company, Portland Museum of Art and PORT Opera.
Rudy will lead fundraising efforts for the Bowdoin International Music Festival, a classical training and concert program presenting more than 80 concerts and serving more than 250 advanced students from around the world each summer on the Bowdoin College campus.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
