ORONO (AP) — Police say a 20-year-old Maine man who’s charged with murder in the death of a 15-year-old girl is also a “person of interest” in an unrelated burglary over the winter.
Detective Robert Jordan of the Penobscot County Sheriff ’s Department said Kyle Dube of Orono is being investigated for a burglary in Kenduskeag in January.
Penobscot County sheriff ’s deputies and Orono and state police were at Dube’s home on Friday with a search warrant for stolen property.
Dube has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Nichole Cable of Glenburn.
He’s accused of creating a fake Facebook profile and using it to set up a meeting with Nichole before killing her and hiding her body on May 12.
