DURHAM – Nicholas Gordon Dorrington, 32, died June 25 at his parents’ home in Freeport. He was born Oct. 20, 1980, at Bittburg Air Force Base in Germany, the son of Joyce A. and John E. Dorrington. He graduated from Freeport High School, class of 1999, and attended Central Maine Community College majoring in automotive trades. He worked mostly for the Lee Auto Group and was currently with Lee Nissan.

Dorrington was a VW enthusiast and enjoyed being outdoors – whether it was working on cars, in the yard, four-wheeling, hunting or attending car shows. If it had an engine, he loved it. He was witty with a wicked sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda Dorrington, of Durham; his mother, Joyce, of Freeport; his half-brother John E. Dorrington Jr., and his wife, Janet, of Lubbock, Texas; his brother, J. Arthur Dorrington, and his wife Ashlea, of Fort Hood, Texas; his nephew, Layne; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by both maternal and paternal grandparents; his uncles, Howard Dorr and Harold Dorrington; his aunt, Josie Dorrington; and his father, John E. Dorrington.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 5 in Burr Cemetery, 56 Durham Road, Freeport. A reception will follow at the AMVETS Hall, Route 136, Durham, ME.
